Rospotrebnadzor Lifts Tomato Import Ban for 12 Azerbaijani Enterprises
Rospotrebnadzor has lifted the ban on tomato supplies from 12 Azerbaijani enterprises. This was announced by Anton Karamzin, the deputy head of Rospotrebnadzor, according to TASS.
“The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance provides information about the cancellation of the temporary restrictions on tomato supplies established for 12 Azerbaijani enterprises as of December 20, 2020, in areas where the American tomato pest had been detected. It is noted that the cancellation is based on the examination of a letter from the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and with the guarantee of that service,” he stated.
Earlier, it was reported that on December 10, Rospotrebnadzor prohibited the import of apples and tomatoes from Azerbaijan to the EAEU due to the detection of quarantine objects, particularly the South American pest. On December 17, Rospotrebnadzor partially lifted the restrictions on tomato imports from Azerbaijan to Russia, allowing supplies from five enterprises.
