Major Car Accident in Lori Province: BMW and Opel Collide, 6 Injured

On December 1, a major car accident occurred in Lori Province. Around 7:15 PM, a collision took place between a BMW 740 driven by 36-year-old Perch Melkonyan from the village of Mets Parni and an Opel Vectra driven by 26-year-old Armenak Hovhannisyan from the village of Hartaghuys on the 17th km of the Spitak-Gyumri highway.

According to Shamshyan.com, as a result of the accident, the driver A. Hovhannisyan and passengers, residents of Hartaghuys, 54-year-old Samvel Hovhannisyan, 51-year-old Lala Hovhannisyan, and residents of Spitak, 29-year-old Hayastan Hovhannisyan, 59-year-old Hayastan Samvelyan, along with 2-year-old Misha Meliksetyan were taken to the Vanadzor Medical Center with bodily injuries.

After the accident, the driver of the BMW, P. Melkonyan, fled the scene but was later found within hours. He underwent a sobriety test, which revealed a high level of intoxication.
