A Cluster Bomb with Over 260 Explosives Found Near Stepanakert, Says Artsakh Emercom
A cluster bomb fired by Azerbaijan, containing over 260 exploded and unexploded fragmentary munitions, has been discovered near Stepanakert, the capital of Artsakh. The use of such munitions is strictly prohibited under all international conventions when targeting civilian populations.
The area where the bomb was found holds economic significance, as local residents engage in livestock farming, gardening, and beekeeping. There are no military facilities nearby.
Rescue teams from the State Emergency Situations Service will eliminate the discovered munitions in the pasture and surrounding forests. Armenian and foreign media outlets currently in Artsakh have been documenting and covering the work of the deminers.
The emergency service once again urges residents to promptly call the 24-hour operational numbers 911, 112, or 101 if they discover bombs or other explosive materials in their yards, gardens, or even forests.
