Both Countries Must Uphold the European Convention on Human Rights: Secretary General of the Council of Europe
Armenia and Azerbaijan are members of the Council of Europe. Both countries have undertaken obligations to resolve the conflict peacefully. Furthermore, both are bound to adhere to the European Convention on Human Rights. Respecting human rights in this region is a vital and legal obligation.
