The Involvement of CSTO Peacekeepers Is Not on Our Agenda, Says CSTO Secretary General
The issue of involving CSTO peacekeepers in the resolution of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh is currently not on the agenda, CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas announced, as reported by belta.by.
“The CSTO plans to complete the necessary legal work to include its peacekeeping mission in the UN this year, and next year specific negotiations in this direction will take place,” said the Secretary General.
Zas recalled that the main goal of the CSTO is not to ensure international peace and regional security through military means, but through political measures. To this end, there are well-prepared units capable of resolving peacekeeping issues, creating conditions for separating conflicting parties, initiating negotiation processes, and generally establishing peace.
