The Buildup of Terrorists in Azerbaijan Poses a Danger to Several States
During the war unleashed against Artsakh, the transfer of mercenary terrorists to Azerbaijani territory for participation in combat operations by the Azerbaijani army could pose a danger to several states, said political scientist Alexander Markarov.
In an interview with "Armenpress," Markarov referred to recent reports from Russia's Federal Security Service about neutralizing terrorists within the country's territory. He stated, "In recent days, the Russian Federal Security Service has released information that terrorist activities are being neutralized and prevented. This confirms that no one today can be free from the threat of terrorism."
Addressing the question of whether the events in Russia are connected to the transfer of terrorists from Syria to Azerbaijan, the political scientist noted that he does not see a clear connection, but this situation could pose a danger to several countries.
"This danger increases when Azerbaijan essentially uses its territory for the transfer of mercenaries considered terrorist groups by the international community and becomes a new connecting link. It is not excluded that Azerbaijan is currently acting as a territory where terrorist forces are, in fact, concentrated. This is unacceptable and absolutely does not contribute to stability and peace. Terrorism, which does not recognize borders or territories, presents a global threat," he stated.
According to him, the terrorist buildup occurring in Azerbaijan definitely causes concern for everyone, and this concern must be appropriately addressed.
