Video: Bulgarian Armenians Organize Protest in Sofia Marching from European Commission to Parliament
Representatives of the Armenian community in Bulgaria organized a protest in the capital city of Sofia. They gathered in front of the European Commission building, demanding support for the cessation of terrorism and violence.
The video of the protest was posted on the Facebook page of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) Bulgarian office. Participants also marched to the country's parliament, chanting slogans such as "Peace for Armenia," "Peace for Artsakh," "Stop Terrorism," "Erdogan is a Terrorist," and others.
They displayed relevant banners with messages like "Your Silence is Killing Armenians" and "Stop the War." It is worth noting that on September 27, Azerbaijan's armed forces launched a large-scale attack in Artsakh, targeting even civilians.
As of October 11, Artsakh's armed forces had downed 16 helicopters, 17 planes, 165 drones, and 510 units of armored vehicles, primarily tanks, along with 86 vehicles, 10 armored personnel carriers, 4 TOS-1A heavy rocket systems, 4 Smerch, and 1 Uragan multiple rocket launcher systems from the opposing side. The enemy has suffered over 4,719 casualties. On the Armenian side, preliminary figures indicate there are 525 casualties.
Azerbaijan's armed forces also targeted military and civilian infrastructure in Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia, resulting in the deaths of 2 civilians in Gegharkunik and 25 civilians in Artsakh, along with 102 injured civilians and damage to approximately 5,800 properties and infrastructure.
Reporters from both foreign and local media were injured as a result of the artillery shelling by Azerbaijani forces. Martial law was declared in Armenia and Artsakh on September 27. A ceasefire was implemented as of October 10 at 12:00 PM, but Azerbaijani forces conducted diversionary operations and shelled peaceful areas in Artsakh after the ceasefire.
