Meeting between Pashinyan and Mishustin Commences in Yerevan
The meeting between Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has started in Yerevan.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, within the framework of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council held in Yerevan. Pashinyan noted that this is Mr. Mishustin's first visit to Yerevan in his capacity as Prime Minister, and expressed regret that it is taking place in the context of the ongoing military actions in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The Armenian Prime Minister expressed hope that in the near future, the Russian Prime Minister would visit the country under different conditions and atmosphere.
At the beginning of the meeting, the heads of government of the two countries discussed the situation created in Nagorno-Karabakh, emphasizing the importance of halting military operations.
Pashinyan and Mishustin addressed current issues of Armenian-Russian trade and economic cooperation in areas such as energy, transportation, and industry. The Prime Ministers underscored the importance of implementing joint strategic projects and strengthening cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The interlocutors also touched upon the measures taken in the fight against the coronavirus.
