28 New Cases of Intestinal Disease Identified in Katnarat, Ministry of Health Reports
In the village of Katnarat, located in the Tashir region, new cases of intestinal disease continue to be identified as of October 9 at 11 AM. This information was provided by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia.
During the epidemiological investigation and community visits, an additional 28 new cases were identified. The total number of cases now stands at 73, with 64 individuals hospitalized, while the remaining 9 are under outpatient supervision.
Currently, the water supply in the village has been suspended, and water is being delivered to residents via tankers until the complete cleaning and disinfection of the water supply system is finished. Out of 12 water samples taken for microbiological investigation, 7 showed deviations, and among 64 samples taken from patients, 10 were found to carry the causative agent of dysentery.
It is worth noting that during the period from October 6 to 8, 39 cases were identified, all of which were confirmed to be from the same neighborhood and had used water from a surface source in that neighborhood.
