Tbilisi Ready to Host Meeting Between Armenia and Azerbaijan Authorities
The Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia, has issued a statement regarding the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. "Due to the latest military clashes between Azerbaijan and Armenia, a difficult situation has arisen, resulting in numerous casualties. Unfortunately, the cessation of hostilities and the resumption of dialogue do not seem likely at this moment. We all understand that further escalation of the situation will have a negative impact on the security of the entire region. We again appeal to the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group and other international actors to use all their resources to end this escalation and to resume dialogue," the statement read.
Gakharia emphasized that Georgia maintains friendly relations with both Azerbaijan and Armenia. The head of government noted that Georgia is ready to support the process of establishing peace in the region as quickly as possible and has expressed willingness to create opportunities for dialogue between the representatives of the conflicting parties by organizing a meeting in Tbilisi.
