Azerbaijan's Large-Scale Attack on Artsakh Settlements Leads to Civilian Casualties and Damage
Azerbaijan's large-scale attack on Artsakh settlements has resulted in civilian casualties and damage. This was reported by the Human Rights Defender in Artsakh.
On the morning of September 27, Azerbaijan launched extensive air and artillery strikes along the entire length of the contact line, targeting numerous civilian settlements and infrastructure, including the capital Stepanakert. There are also civilian casualties and damage.
The Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Artsakh strongly condemns Azerbaijan's gross violations of international humanitarian law norms. The Defender calls on the international community to adequately assess Azerbaijani actions, especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, and to take measures to neutralize the dangers threatening the lives and security of thousands of residents of the Republic of Artsakh.
