COVID-19 Detected in Approximately 1.5% of Tested School Staff, Ministry of Health Reports
The testing process for coronavirus infection among school staff began on September 3 of this year. This was reported by the Ministry of Health in response to a query from NEWS.am. As of September 16, 2020, approximately 1.5% of the tested staff in schools have been found to have contracted the virus.
The Ministry has not provided data on how many people in total have been tested across all schools in Armenia, nor how many of those are teachers, citing that statistical information is still being processed and will be summarized after the completion of the testing process.
The media also inquired whether a second test is conducted if the initial test result is positive, and if so, what decision is made in the case of a negative result. In response, the Ministry of Health stated, “In the case of a positive result for the coronavirus test, a second test is not conducted.”
