Rapid Negotiation for a State Loan of at Least $1 Billion from Russia: Mikael Melkumyan
Economic decline indicators in our republic clearly demonstrate that the current situation has been more negative for the Government of the Republic of Armenia than expected, something we warned about back in April. This was stated by Mikael Melkumyan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party, on his Facebook page.
He specifically noted:
- It is urgent to negotiate quickly and obtain a state loan equivalent to at least $1 billion from our strategic partner, the Russian Federation, in Russian rubles. Just a few days ago, Belarus received a similar loan amounting to about $1.5 billion. The economy of the Republic of Armenia needs an infusion of necessary financial resources. There is no alternative to this, as it can only be quickly realized with the Russian Federation.
- The Armenian-Russian border must be opened promptly.
Currently, the Armenian-Russian border remains closed to the population among the EAEU member states. Why is that?
