Ombudsman Representatives Visit Armavir Penitentiary to Ensure Rights of Hunger Strikers
Representatives of the Ombudsman, as per the instructions of the Defender, today conducted an unannounced visit to the Armavir Penitentiary to ensure the rights of individuals who have declared a hunger strike. This was reported by the RA Ombudsman.
The Ombudsman's representatives held private conversations with the hunger strikers and reviewed their medical documents, among other matters. As a result of the discussions, one of the five hunger strikers has decided to cease the strike.
The results of the visit will be summarized, and if necessary, letters will be sent to the relevant state bodies.
