Deputy Minister of Education: No Grieving Parents or Students Seen at Five Schools Visited Today
“Today I visited five schools, and in none of them did I see grieving parents, children, or teachers. Instead, I witnessed hope, a desire to attend school, and a willingness to make learning possible,” wrote Deputy Minister of Education and Science Zhanna Andreasyan on her Facebook page.
The Deputy Minister responded to a widely circulated photo on the internet showing masked children attending school for the first time. “I suggest that we refrain from weaving sob stories about the beginning of the school year, especially when such narratives are based on one or two images from the internet. By doing this, you inadvertently devalue the work of thousands of teachers and schools, who have put in effort this academic year, mainly out of care and expectation,” she stated.
