Belarusian Citizens Must Resolve the Situation Independently, Says Putin to Lukashenko
Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed that Belarusian citizens should independently and without external pressure resolve the current situation in their country. According to TASS agency, Putin made this statement during a meeting with Alexander Lukashenko.
“We are in favor of Belarusians managing this situation peacefully and through dialogue, without any external pressure or suggestions, and coming to a common decision,” said the Russian leader.
He also stated that he considers Lukashenko's proposal to amend the Belarusian Constitution to be logical, appropriate, and timely.
According to the Russian president, Russia remains committed to all agreements with Belarus, including those within the framework of the Union State and the CSTO.
