Marukyan: If Our Prime Minister Calls the Georgian Prime Minister About 50 Armenian-Plated Vehicles, He Would Say There’s No Problem, But They Don’t Do It
“I believe that if our prime minister were to call the Georgian prime minister and say that there are 50 vehicles with Armenian license plates, our police would come, escort them from the border to Armenia, and say there’s no problem, but they don’t do it,” said Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the ‘Enlightened Armenia’ faction, during a protest in front of the National Assembly, where Armenian citizens were expressing their desire to travel to Russia.
“I called and was told that the Armenian embassy has made a request there, and they said it contradicts our laws. Russia does not have diplomatic relations with Georgia, but they managed to arrange for their citizens to be transported by buses from Bagratashen to Lars. Everything is about negotiations,” he added.
