Serzh Sargsyan Had a High Fever. His Defense Presented Medical Document to the Court
The court session regarding the case of third president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and others was held without Sargsyan present. His defense attorney, Amram Makinyan, submitted a medical document to the court. "He has been examined by a relevant doctor and has been diagnosed with an acute respiratory infection. He is not in a medical facility," he stated.
In response to the court’s inquiry regarding whether there has been any positive change in Sargsyan’s health condition, Makinyan said that according to his latest information, the situation remains the same.
The prosecutor in the case also raised an objection, noting that the medical document does not clarify Sargsyan's current health condition. "From the content of the medical document, it is unclear whether Sargsyan is objectively unable to participate in the court session at this time. It is mentioned that there was a temperature rise and an ambulance call was made; now is his temperature down or is it still high?"
Judge Vahe Misakyan, however, stated that he does not consider Sargsyan's absence today to be disrespectful.
The next court session is scheduled for October 22 at 15:00. It should be noted that in the previous court session, Sargsyan's absence was deemed disrespectful by the court.
