38 Cases of Alcohol Poisoning Registered in Armenia
Those affected by alcohol poisoning are receiving treatment in various medical organizations across the republic. This information has been reported by the Ministry of Health.
As of 12:00 PM on September 3rd, a total of 38 cases of alcohol poisoning have been recorded in the country, with 25 cases in the Armavir region, 12 in Yerevan, and 1 in Kotayk.
Unfortunately, there have also been 14 reported fatalities.
An epidemiological investigation has revealed that the likely source of poisoning for the victims in the Armavir region was the consumption of home-made vodka purchased from a single location. Most of the cases from Yerevan involved the use of medical alcohol as a substitute for vodka. Further epidemiological investigations are ongoing to determine the type of alcohol consumed by the remaining victims, including the case reported from Kotayk.
