Gagik Khachatryan to Remain in Custody
The former head of the State Revenue Committee, Gagik Khachatryan, will remain in custody. Today, the court rejected his request to change the measure of restraint.
Currently, a press conference by lawyer Yerem Sargsyan is underway.
It should be noted that Gagik Khachatryan is charged with causing serious consequences due to abuse of official authority, embezzlement of particularly large amounts, organizing, inciting, or assisting in such actions, receiving bribes of particularly large amounts, official forgery, and organizing, inciting, or assisting in money laundering, under six articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (Article 308, Part 2; Article 179, Part 3, Point 1; Article 38-179, Part 3, Point 1; Article 311, Part 4, Point 2; Article 314, Part 1, Point 1; Article 38-190, Part 3, Point 1).
In addition, Karen Khachatryan is charged with embezzlement of particularly large amounts and official forgery (Article 179, Part 3, Point 1; Article 314, Part 1, Point 1). The Khachatryans do not accept the charges against them.
