The Meeting of 'My Step' and Nikol Pashinyan Concludes, What Agenda Was Discussed: Makunts Explains
There was no pre-planned agenda, and we addressed both foreign policy issues and the agenda for reforms in Armenia. In this regard, the discussion primarily focused on values. This was stated by Lilit Makunts, the leader of the 'My Step' faction in the National Assembly, after a meeting of the Civil Contract party.
Regarding the Government's nomination for the Constitutional Court, Makunts noted that this issue was not discussed. '‘My Step’ cannot decide which candidate should be presented by the Government. In the case of the former candidate for Constitutional Court judge Vahram Avetisyan, as well as the potential candidate Edgar Shatiryan, the 'My Step' faction does not find it ethically correct to present a position, especially since the votes will be secret. First, Edgar Shatiryan is not presented as a Government candidate, and second, we do not find it appropriate to express a position in the event of presenting any candidate,' she said.
In response to the observation that various groups are demanding the resignation of Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arayik Harutyunyan, Lilit Makunts stated that this issue was not discussed at the meeting. Makunts emphasized that since the meeting with the Prime Minister was closed, she cannot present any details.
