Official Embezzles 11,476,359 AMD: New Revelation
The investigation department of the region of Vayots Dzor under the RA Investigative Committee has uncovered several details regarding the embezzlement committed by the director of the "Vayots Dzor Forestry Enterprise" branch of the non-commercial state organization "Hayantar." These details emerged as a result of extensive investigative and procedural actions conducted within the framework of a criminal case.
According to the obtained data during the investigation, the director of the "Vayots Dzor Forestry Enterprise," endowed with organizational and managerial functions, has been systematically embezzling a particularly large amount of money from the resources entrusted to him, totaling 11,476,359 AMD, through mismanagement from January 1, 2016, to June 2020.
Specifically, it has been revealed that, motivated by personal interests, the director of the aforementioned branch intervened with the administration of the "Hayantar" non-commercial organization to facilitate the employment of his wife, his friend's son, his own brother, and the latter's son-in-law in the "Vayots Dzor Forestry Enterprise." Despite not actually showing up for work and failing to fulfill the duties specified in their contracts, their names were included in the organization’s payroll, and they received payments from the organization each month.
With a sufficient combination of evidence obtained, the director of the "Vayots Dzor Forestry Enterprise" has been charged under Article 179 (embezzlement or misappropriation) of the RA Criminal Code, Part 3, Clause 1. The preliminary investigation is underway.
