Home Maternal Death of 42-Year-Old Woman Registered in Ararat Region: Ministry Spokesperson

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Alina Nikoghosyan, announced on her Facebook page: "I regret to inform that a home maternal death of a 42-year-old woman has been recorded in one of the villages of the Ararat region. An examination of the woman's body revealed an 8-9 month pregnancy with a deceased fetus. The cause of death was acute myocardial infarction. I should note that the woman did not seek any medical assistance from the primary healthcare system or any other medical institution due to personal beliefs.

The Ministry of Health calls on everyone to contact a doctor regarding any health-related issues to avoid undesirable and sometimes disastrous consequences. This marks the second maternal death case in 2020, again not due to obstetric reasons."
