Five Vehicles Collide on Yerevan-Yeraskh Highway, Injuries Reported
On August 12, at 11:15 PM, the regional crisis management center received information regarding a traffic accident near the village of Taperakan on the M-2 highway.
A team of firefighters from the Emergency Situations Ministry's Ararat regional rescue department was dispatched to the scene.
It was found that five vehicles were involved in the collision at kilometer 35 of the Yerevan-Yeraskh highway: a BMW (driver: Vahagn H., born in 1980), a Renault (driver: Gevorg I., born in 1992), two ZIL trucks (drivers: Lyudvig H., born in 1990, and Hovhannes E., born in 1977), and an Opel Astra G (driver: Sarkis A., born in 1993).
Before the rescuers arrived, a passenger in the BMW, Kristine A. (born in 1978), was hospitalized at Erebuni Medical Center.
The rescuers disconnected the vehicles' batteries, closed the gas cylinders' valves, and carried out road cleaning operations.
