Police Risk Their Lives to Prevent Young Girl's Suicide Attempt

On August 11, an extraordinary incident took place in Yerevan. Officers from the third battalion of the Police Patrol Service were on duty at the Davitashen Bridge when two citizens approached them and reported that a young girl was attempting to jump off the bridge.

According to shamshyan.com, the police officers were able to save the girl’s life within seconds. One officer, even at the risk of his own life, managed to embrace the girl and pull her to safety.

The firefighting rescue team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and a rescue psychologist arrived on the scene to provide assistance to the girl. A rescue psychologist is currently working with her.

Materials are being prepared in the investigation department of the Mstotsian police regarding the incident. The police are working to establish the girl’s identity.
