Turkish and Azerbaijani Presidents Held Phone Conversation
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had a phone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. This was reported by Ermenihaber.
The parties exchanged mutual congratulations on the occasion of the Muslim holiday of Qurban Bayram (the Festival of Sacrifice, which marks the end of Hajj). It was noted that the leaders of the two countries are pleased with the ongoing development of relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan and expressed confidence that bilateral relations will continue to strengthen.
Erdoğan and Aliyev mentioned that the large-scale joint military exercises initiated in Azerbaijan are proceeding "successfully." They believe that these exercises are "another manifestation of the friendly and brotherly relations between the two countries."
Referring to the recent developments on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the Azerbaijani president informed Erdoğan that they "greatly appreciate Turkey's decisive support for Azerbaijan." According to the source, Erdoğan and Aliyev also discussed several other issues related to bilateral relations.
