1.4 Million Dollars for Minesweeping in Artsakh: House of Representatives Passes Resolution
The resolution granting $1.4 million in humanitarian assistance for demining in Artsakh has been adopted. The U.S. House of Representatives voted in favor of Jackie Speier's resolution with 186 votes for and 170 against.
The $1.4 million will be allocated to continue demining efforts carried out by the HALO Trust organization.
It is noteworthy that an amendment proposed by Congressman Steve Cohen, which aimed to halt U.S. funding for humanitarian demining in Artsakh, was not included in the agenda. The committee also removed an amendment supporting an increase in assistance to Armenia by $20 million from the discussion.
