Recent Increase in Infections Observed in the Country, Says Gakharia
In recent days, there has unfortunately been a sharp rise in infections in the country. This was stated by Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia at today’s government meeting, as reported by 1Tv.ge.
Gakharia emphasized that the government is monitoring the situation but that attention is necessary. “Today, we should start our conversation by discussing the pandemic situation. Yesterday we had 24 cases, today 12: unfortunately, in recent days, there is a significant increase in infections, which is noteworthy. Although we are controlling the spread of the virus, we must remain vigilant. It is particularly notable that the spread is concentrated mainly in several villages of the Gardabani district. Given that the social structure in these villages is such that many citizens work in the markets and fairs in Tbilisi, a decision has been made to tighten control in these markets and fairs, including temperature checks and testing,” Gakharia announced.
