Do You Want People to Faint on the Streets? Stop the Farce of Wearing Masks in Open Spaces
The member of Yerevan City Council’s "Light" faction, Tehmine Vardanyan, made a post on her Facebook page addressing the restriction on wearing masks in open spaces set by the commandant's office. She particularly noted that the absurdity of wearing masks outdoors is becoming increasingly serious and is exacerbating serious health issues for many citizens.
Her post stated: "The absurdity of wearing masks in open spaces is deepening and is causing serious health problems for many citizens. If some individuals believe that not wearing a mask makes you a criminal, in my opinion, those who impose mask mandates in open areas are doing much more harm to citizens' lives. And yesterday, when the temperature was 40-42 degrees, police were conducting instructed raids, fully aware that many citizens occasionally lower their masks to avoid suffocation. This can already be characterized, why not, as a hostile approach. What do you want? Do you want people to faint on the streets? It has been mandatory to wear masks everywhere for more than two months, yet, lo and behold, the numbers are not decreasing. I assure you that around 1-2% do not wear masks in open spaces. Don’t you understand that the chosen measure to combat this issue has more negative consequences than positive ones? Not to mention the numerous government MPs who advocate for the law and, with masks on their lips, have been infected in droves. No, I don’t want to think that those who beat their chests calling for law compliance are lawbreakers.
Stop the farce of wearing masks in open spaces. Speak up and consult hundreds of doctors about this. It will have a very profound effect. P.S. If the intention is purely to fine people, I suggest, as in the Chipollino cartoon, to impose fines for breathing air and for rainfall!"
