Pope Francis Calls for Dialogue Between Armenia and Azerbaijan
Pope Francis, during his traditional Sunday Mass, addressed the faithful gathered in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican, expressing his concern: “I am worried about the recent rise in military tension between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” the pontiff stated.
The Pope promised to pray for the families of those who lost their lives in the clashes and expressed hope that, with the support of the international community, a lasting peaceful resolution could be achieved “through dialogue and goodwill from both sides, for the benefit of the people.”
