Photos: Broken Glass, Damaged Houses, Schools, and Kindergartens. Border Villages Have Been Living Under Enemy Fire for 30 Years
In recent days, the world has been discussing the tension along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and Azerbaijan's aggression. However, few are aware that the Armenian border villages of Barekamavan, Berkaber, Aygepar, Chinari, Movses, and others have been subjected to constant and targeted fire for the past 26 years, if we consider the year of the signing of the ceasefire agreement as a starting point.
This was highlighted by Facebook user Elena Shuvaeva Petrosyan, who published images taken in various years since 2012, showing the damage inflicted on houses and structures due to enemy fire.
For nearly 30 years, these villages have lived without peace, under the threat of enemy targeting, for which there have been no signed agreements. A Turkish proverb is particularly relevant: "Kiss the hand that you cannot cut... kiss it until you can cut it," she noted.
