Preliminary Investigation into Businessman's Murder Attempt Completed and Sent to Court

The preliminary investigation into the case of an attempted murder of businessman Melik Manukyan, carried out by an organized group, has been completed and sent to court by the Kotayk regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee.

During the preliminary investigation, a thorough, objective, and comprehensive examination revealed that three individuals, two of whom are residents of Shirak province and the third from Yerevan, as well as yet unidentified persons involved in the case, united as part of an organized group at an unspecified time and upon receiving an order to kill Melik Manukyan, conspired to commit the crime.

The members of the organized group, according to their roles and through a pre-designed plan, illegally acquired an improvised explosive device filled with TNT and intended to be used for the crime during an unspecified time.

It was established that with the intent to unlawfully take Melik Manukyan's life, the aforementioned three individuals and their accomplices took measures between July 30 and August 2, 2019, to ascertain details concerning Manukyan’s visits to his workplace and his departure from the company. They illegally entered a room of a defunct restaurant complex in Getamej village, Kotayk province, by breaking the lock on the entrance door, and confirmed that it was possible to monitor the activities around Manukyan's glass container production site and its parking area. This included monitoring when Manukyan entered and exited the production area in his vehicle, determining the time of his visit to work, what vehicle he used, where he sat, and what vehicle his bodyguards accompanied him with.
