Police to Implement Enhanced Services on Vardavar
The police will undertake enhanced services in public places aimed at preventing gatherings. This was announced by the Police of the Republic of Armenia.
"On July 19, it is Vardavar, the Feast of the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ. Vardavar is one of the favorite holidays of our people, celebrated with unique enthusiasm. Approaching this circumstance with understanding, we still call and urge everyone to refrain from the temptation to celebrate Vardavar in the traditional way, to avoid crowded places, and events that imply human gatherings, in order to prevent the possible spread of the pandemic. The police will implement enhanced services in public places to prevent gatherings. Health and vigilance to all of us. Together we can overcome all difficulties," the statement reads.
A previous statement was also released by the Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Crisis Management Center Tigran Avinyan, urging the public to refrain from the temptation to celebrate Vardavar traditionally.
