The Peak is Conquered, No Concessions Will Be Made: The Ceasefire Imposed on Azerbaijan
According to the 'Fact' newspaper, Turkey's intelligence agencies have received instructions in recent months and are implementing a program related to a covert infiltration into Armenia's economic sector. This involves forming economic dependency through the involvement of intermediary organizations, which will subsequently create opportunities to influence the operational effectiveness of certain systematic enterprises.
The sectors targeted by the Turks include mining, energy, and food production. Experts suggest that such situations typically operate through intermediary or third-party organizations that are active in parallel sectors and do not raise suspicion, either by offering attractive terms for acquiring shares or initiating advance and investment transactions, thereby gaining financial leverage over the targeted economic operators.
In a conversation with several experts in economic security, the potential for such developments was not ruled out, 'especially given that in the current phase of Armenia's economic realities, by investing or promising several hundred million dollars, it is possible to infiltrate the management processes of quite large private entities.' According to one of our interlocutors, such risks are present in any country: 'When there is an economic crisis, there is a deficit of resources, and if the government is inexperienced and does not fully grasp the situation, any prominently branded foreign company can smoothly acquire shares in a major operator, and later it may turn out that the real beneficiaries of those shares are Turkish-Azerbaijani circles. This is one of the very simple formulas for intervention—it is a disguised economic intervention,' our interlocutor summarized, adding that this aspect in the investment field should be noted by the relevant authorities.
