Stop the Gunfire and Resume Negotiations: Mike Pompeo's Call to Armenia and Azerbaijan
The United States calls on Armenia and Azerbaijan to immediately implement de-escalation at their borders, halt the gunfire, and resume negotiations. This was announced by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at a press conference on Wednesday.
“The U.S. is deeply concerned about the deadly violence that has occurred along the international border between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We extend our condolences to the families of all the victims and urge the parties to immediately begin de-escalation, resume substantive dialogue, and maintain the ceasefire to start negotiations under the co-chairmanship of the Minsk Group,” Pompeo stated.
