«Now is the Best Time for Artsakh to Extend a Helping Hand to the U.S.», Suren Sargsyan
International relations expert Suren Sargsyan wrote on his Facebook page: “I believe that now is the best time for Artsakh to extend a helping hand to the U.S. I suggest that the authorities of Artsakh send ‘Made in Artsakh’ masks and hand sanitizers to the U.S. Let me explain why this is the opportune moment.
1. First, the situation with the coronavirus is the most difficult in the U.S., particularly in California. I think there is no need to justify why it is necessary to send aid in the name of the Los Angeles City Hall.
2. There are hearings in Congress related to financial allocations, including the cancellation of aid to Artsakh. This small yet symbolic gesture would also be very timely for the work of our lobbyists.
3. There will be a direct flight from Los Angeles to Yerevan on July 11; if the same plane is returning, it makes our task easier to organize the delivery.
4. Azerbaijanis are sending dozens of tons of aid to the U.S., but I assure you that the impact of Artsakh’s assistance will be much greater.
5. The U.S. has provided us with millions of dollars in aid to overcome the pandemic and continues to be the only country that has directly supported Artsakh through various programs.
6. This is a historical chance to show that Artsakh is an unrecognized but established state. I ask my friends to convey this proposal to the authorities of Artsakh.”
