Car Theft Cases Revealed: One Person Arrested
As a result of extensive investigative and procedural actions carried out by the Arabkir division of the Yerevan city investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee, several cases of car theft have been uncovered.
According to the data obtained during the investigation, a 21-year-old resident of Yerevan, having reached a preliminary agreement with an unidentified person to secretly steal someone else's property, acted in a group and, during 2019-2020, broke and removed side mirrors from parked cars in various streets of Yerevan, causing significant property damage to citizens.
Additionally, in January-February 2020, with the intent of secretly stealing someone else's property, the 21-year-old took advantage of the absence of people in the area on Bashinjaghyan and Komitas streets in Yerevan to secretly steal front side mirrors from parked cars, causing varying degrees of property damage to citizens.
Based on a combination of sufficient evidence, the 21-year-old has been charged under Article 177 (theft) of the RA Criminal Code, parts 1 and 2. He has been arrested. An individual proceeding has been separated for him, the pre-trial investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to court with an accusatory conclusion.
Notice: A suspected or accused person is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a court decision that has entered into legal force.
