Who is Referred for COVID-19 Testing: Clarification
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia has released a video to inform who is referred for COVID-19 testing. Individuals who are suffering from severe acute respiratory infections, have high fever and cough or shortness of breath, have been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, and have chronic diseases, along with symptoms such as fever or respiratory infection, are being referred for testing.
COVID-19 testing is also recommended for individuals diagnosed with pneumonia, pregnant women being admitted to obstetric wards, or those who frequently visit gynecological consultations with fever, cough, or shortness of breath. Newborns born to mothers with confirmed COVID-19, as well as healthcare workers employed in any medical facility exhibiting fever, cough, or shortness of breath, are included in testing referrals.
Additionally, during the summer recruitment of 2020, individuals of conscription age undergoing medical examinations who exhibit concerning symptoms characteristic of acute respiratory infections are referred for COVID-19 testing.
