Number of COVID-19 Cases Worldwide Surpasses 7 Million
The number of confirmed cases of the new type of coronavirus infection, COVID-19, has exceeded 7 million, reaching 7,092,000 globally. According to data from coronavirus research centers, the death toll has surpassed 406,000. More than 3,461,000 people have recovered.
The United States, which ranks first in terms of the number of infected, has reported 2,007,449 confirmed cases. The death toll here stands at 112,469, making the U.S. the country with the highest number of deaths as well.
Brazil is second in overall statistics, with confirmed cases reaching 691,962 and deaths at 37,312. With this number of fatalities, Brazil has become the third country worldwide, surpassing Italy.
Russia follows in terms of the number of infected, with a total of 467,673 confirmed COVID-19 cases. The country has seen 5,859 deaths as a result of the outbreak.
