No Wedding Held at Sahmosavank: Spiritual Leader Responds to the Photo Posted by the Prime Minister
The spiritual leader of Sahmosavank and Artashavan, Father Osh takes to social media to clarify that no wedding took place today at Sahmosavank, contradicting a photo posted by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
In his Facebook post, Father Osh states: “Dear believers, today a photograph surfaced on the Facebook page of the Prime Minister of Armenia, which allegedly depicts a moment from a wedding that took place today at Sahmosavank. This photo is not from today, as no wedding occurred at the specified time at Sahmosavank.”
He further explained that weddings are generally not allowed, except in exceptional circumstances where it is impossible to postpone the event. Furthermore, he specified that the ceremony within the church is conducted with only one priest, the bride, the groom, and the witness present, in accordance with the rules set by the authorities.
“Therefore, the sender of the photo not only distorts the truth but also deceives the Prime Minister and all of us. It's shameful to do this,” he added.
