Arms Imported Without Violations, This May Upset Some People - Artak Davtyan
The spokesperson for the Minister of Defense, Shushan Stepanyan, has posted a statement by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Artak Davtyan, on her Facebook page. We present it below.
"- Particularly in the last two years, significant work has been done regarding procurement, and we have achieved the result that the import of weapons and military equipment is carried out in a planned manner and without violations. What can I say, perhaps this circumstance upsets some people, which also becomes the reason for such publications. Regarding the recently discussed OSA-AKM systems, I would like to mention that after their acquisition, they have been modernized in our defense industry factories, they are now in service and have partly replaced the old equipment that had exhausted its operational resources. None of the samples of the weapons and military equipment acquired by the Armed Forces remains in storage; we procure what is necessary at the moment based on what the troops need, what is well understood, and what is effective for our army."
