Mortality Rate in Armenia is Fortunately Low: Narek Zeynalyan

The mortality rate in Armenia is fortunately low compared to the global average. This was stated today, June 3, during a conversation with NEWS.am by Narek Zeynalyan, a member of the National Assembly from the "My Step" faction and chairman of the Standing Committee on Health and Social Affairs.

"The mortality rate is relative and is calculated based on the population per 100,000 people, determining the percentage of infected individuals who have died, and in our case, it is quite low. It should also be taken into account that deaths lag behind reported cases by 2-3 weeks. If we assess the death cases, today's fatalities should not be compared with the numbers of newly reported cases today but rather go back 2-3 weeks and compare them with the positive cases recorded during those days," he said.

According to the deputy, it is impossible to predict the peak of the virus, as it depends on the measures taken, the level of vigilance among the population, and individual responsibility.
