Ayvazovsky's 'Neapolitan Bay' Painting Sold for $2.89 Million at Online Auction
The painting 'Neapolitan Bay' by the Armenian sea painter Ivan Aivazovsky was sold at Sotheby's auction house for £2.295 million ($2.89 million). This was reported on the auction house's website, as conveyed by РиаНовости.
The work was estimated to be worth between £800,000 and £1.2 million but sold for nearly double that amount. The auction took place from May 26 to June 2 and was conducted online.
