On June 2, 2020, as a result of urgent measures implemented upon the instruction of the Prime Minister of Armenia, the National Security Service (NSS) of the Republic of Armenia revealed that on June 1, residents of several adjacent buildings in the Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan organized a celebration in their courtyard on the occasion of International Children's Protection Day. During the event, approximately 50 people, including children and parents, participated, disregarding the requirements set by the authorities.
According to the NSS, the organizers of the event have been identified, and an administrative proceeding has been initiated by the Police of the Republic of Armenia against them.
The NSS urges fellow citizens to demonstrate personal responsibility to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus and to protect the health of ourselves and our loved ones, advising against organizing public events and strictly adhering to the rules established by the decisions of the authorities.
The National Security Service will continue to detect and hold accountable those who organize similar events in accordance with the law.
