101-Year-Old Woman Recovers from Coronavirus and is Discharged

A 101-year-old woman has been discharged from the St. Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center.

The medical center's press service reports that Nazan Simonyan, born in 1919, was transported from the Nork nursing home to the St. Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center on May 16 with a preliminary diagnosis of a new coronavirus infection. Following examinations, she was diagnosed with coronavirus disease with bilateral pneumonia. Her condition was assessed as severe, taking her age into account.

She spent more than a week in the intensive care unit, receiving appropriate medical treatment. After a certain stabilization of her condition, she was transferred to the intensive therapy block to continue her treatment. Upon completion of the treatment, following two negative test results, Nazan Simonyan was fully cured and discharged.
