Italian Doctor Declares Coronavirus is Retreating
Alberto Zangrillo, a leading Italian doctor and coronavirus expert at Milan's San Raffaele Hospital, has noted that the virus is losing its activity. Zangrillo spoke about the samples taken from new infections, mentioning that the analysis determining the number of viral copies in a given volume of biological fluid is referred to as viral load. The higher the figure, the greater the likelihood of infection and the more severe the course of the disease.
“The samples taken over the last 10 days have shown that the virus,” Reuters quotes him as saying. Zangrillo's colleague added that the data indicates the virus is retreating, which is also evidenced by the decrease in the number of 'serious' cases and virus-related deaths in Italy. Scientists urge the public to maintain basic hygiene measures: wash hands more frequently, wear masks, and keep a safe distance but are confident that it is necessary to return to normal life.
