We Won't Return to Strict Quarantine if Public Behavior Changes, Says Pashinyan

The Republic of Armenia, like many other countries, has economic security, financial, and social needs. Today, many countries are lifting quarantine restrictions while urging their residents to follow safety protocols. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan after a briefing from the government’s emergency committee.

“Regarding the question of how much worse the situation needs to get, I can say that it depends on each and every one of us, on all of us. I hope that there will be changes in collective public behavior such that we will not be forced to return to a strict quarantine system. Essentially, this is a development that none of us want,” said Nikol Pashinyan.

According to him, if citizens of Armenia adhere to the proposed guidelines—wearing masks, maintaining social distance, sanitizing hands, and not touching their faces with unwashed hands—then we will quickly see a decline in new cases.
