As of May 28, a total of 470 cases of coronavirus disease have been confirmed in Gegharkunik Province, of which 241 have recovered and 7 have resulted in death. This was reported by Governor Gnel Sanosyan on his Facebook page.

Accordingly, there are 15 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease, 27 recoveries, and 1 new death reported.

Regarding the death case, it was stated that the patient was 76 years old (male) and had underlying chronic conditions. We had previously reported a death case where the patient was confirmed to have a coronavirus infection, but the death was due to another illness. The number of such cases is 1.

The confirmed cases are located in the districts of Vardenis, Mets Masrik, Shatvan, Sotk, Norakert, Tsovinad, Tsovazard, Sevan, Ddmashen, Geghamavan, Zovaber, Martuni (city), Khachaghbyur, Areguny, Lchashen, Tzakkar, Verin Getashen, Vraser, Arpunk, Tsovak, Pokr Masrik, Vardadzor, Zolakhar, Geghamasar, Gandzak, Chkalovka, Astghadzor, Artsvabnist, Nerkhin Getashen, Dzoragyugh, Tsovagyugh, Akunk, Lusakunk, Vaghashen, Gavarr, Karmirgyugh, and Vardenik communities,” wrote the governor.
