The Incident of the Armed Forces Vehicle's Destruction Should Be Viewed in the Context of a Diversion Group's Infiltration Attempt: Abrahamyan
The former advisor to the President of Artsakh, Tigran Abrahamyan, stated on his Facebook page that the incident involving the destruction of a vehicle belonging to the Armed Forces of Armenia on the Nakhichevan direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border should be considered in the context of the recent infiltration attempt by a diversion group along the line of contact between Azerbaijani and Nagorno-Karabakh forces.
“Let us note that earlier, concurrent military exercises were taking place near the borders of Artsakh and Armenia. On one hand, these can be viewed as a 'check-up' demonstration of the exercises, while on the other hand, the situation suggests efforts aimed at escalating tensions in the region. Both interpretations are unacceptable. In any case, the destruction of the military vehicle is not a 'regular' incident; it is fortunate that our servicemen were not harmed during the event, yet it is difficult to perceive these two incidents as clear steps toward sharply escalating the situation. The situation may gradually worsen, but at this stage, its manifestations will likely be more localized in nature,” wrote Abrahamyan.
