Tamrazyan Exits Allegations Honorably: Details of the Extraordinary Meeting
According to the 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper, 'Armlur.am' reports that the decision to hold an extraordinary meeting of the National Assembly's permanent committee on science, education, culture, diaspora, youth, and sports behind closed doors yesterday "upset" the members of the committee, who had a strong desire for the discussion to be open.
The fact is that the parliamentary committee wanted to publicly reveal the serious disagreements related to the Chairman of the Supreme Certifying Committee, Sambat Gogyam, and the Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Grisha Tamrazyan, which had even led to a "razborka." According to our information, a sudden decision was made "from above" to hold the meeting behind closed doors to avoid any fallout.
After this decision, committee members participated in the discussions with much less enthusiasm, posing questions and waiting for responses. Our sources indicate that despite the lengthy duration of the meeting, it was conducted in a calm and cordial atmosphere.
During the committee meeting, Deputy Minister Tamrazyan provided very comprehensive answers to all questions. Even when accusations regarding Tamrazyan's actions and behavior were raised, he demanded evidence. According to our sources, Tamrazyan "won" these discussions and exited the situation honorably.
It is worth noting that in one of his interviews, Chairman of the Supreme Certifying Committee, Sambat Gogyam, stated that there are obvious translations and plagiarisms in the doctoral work of the acting rector of the Armenian State University of Economics, yet he continues to hold his position as he is being sponsored by Deputy Minister Grisha Tamrazyan.
Additionally, Minister of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan made a statement before the meeting, saying in a Facebook live session that a report had been made regarding a crime, stating: "If it turns out that Grisha Tamrazyan has acted as a patron, he should be held criminally liable; otherwise, Sambat Gogyam may be held liable for false denunciation." His statement was not unequivocally interpreted.
